Keeping the car neat and tidy is something that comes naturally to most men. But when it comes to ladies, we have difficulties in maintaining it properly in an orderly manner. Trying to figure out the reasons why, has helped me sorting out my car into a somewhat neat and tidy one. In fact most of my passengers who travel with me agree that they have never seen my cars interior in such good condition ever!

Kids

Kids are the number one reason for my car getting untidy and most cases it would be yours too. Most kids don’t understand the importance of not littering the vehicles. Especially, when it is the mum they have to deal with they take the matter even more lightly. This is why it is very important to teach the kids from the start that littering the car is absolutely forbidden. That they should not throw anything down and spilling will not be entertained. It is best to have a no food and drinks policy when traveling with kids. If you really want to have something to eat while travelling try to go to a restaurant to eat or at least park the vehicle for some time until they finish eating. This has reduced my cleaning time by more than half!

Interior cleaning

You need to clean the interior of your car on a regular basis. It is best if you put the car for interior cleaning with the professionals at least once a week. If not you can do a complete interior clean and have it cleaned by the professionals once a month. It is a good idea to involve your kids when cleaning the car, as then they will understand the difficulty removing stains and spills. And when it comes to stains you should remove them immediately as soon as it happens. Only then will you be able to remove at least 90% of the stain off. Sometimes I wonder if installing a perfect 12v pure sine wave inverter is easier than cleaning the interiors of the car!

Necessities

You should always carry disposable bags with you when travelling in your car. Tissues and a dry cloth for wiping are a must too. You should also carry a one liter bottle of water for any sudden washing that may arise. If you are someone who eats in the car or use many items whilst driving you can have two bags labeled “garbage” and “to be sorted”, so that you can easily dump everything into the bags without letting them lie here and there. Especially make-up items can cause stains if there are spills. And such stains are almost impossible to take off. It is very important that you maintain the vehicle’s performance and interior, as if you should ever think of selling your vehicle its appearance will be a top reason for buying or not buying. Having a good power inverter installed in your car will raise its chances of being sold, having a neat and tidy interior will double its chances of getting sold at a good rate.

A final piece of advice, if you want to maintain your car neat and tidy it is your responsibility and there is absolutely no use blaming others. You should first be determined and take all the necessary actions to maintain it in a neat and clean manner. Otherwise, nobody else will even bother about it.
